Women's: Jeanie Plant and Lee Noble had an easy win over their opponents at the Leeton Soldiers Club on February 14. Runners-up Diane Colyer and Lorraine McKellar raced away to an early lead from their opponents. Despite the challenging conditions, Margaret McKenzie achieved a resting toucher. Men's: Riverina pennant season got under way last weekend with LSC having a win and a loss. In the No. 4 grade, Narrandera defeated LSC two rinks to one with Mark Vogel winning his rink. In the No. 6's, the Soldiers Club defeated Yenda on all three rinks, but there wasn't much between the two sides. This weekend the No. 4 side is at home to Hay and the No. 6's will do battle with cross-town rivals L&D.
Indoor bowls: bowlers have resumed playing after their Christmas and New Year break. In the first week back the winners on the night were Lena Papasidero and Maureen Murrell in top division. They defeated Sam Papasidero and Norma Carbone. In bottom division, the victors were Arthur Stavrow and Robert Hermes, who were too good for Armando Pasquetti and Helen Dahlen. In the second week back top division winners were Sam Papasidero and Stan WIlson, defeating Jim Stewart and Sue Meline. Ida Oliver and Sue Johnson won bottom division ahead of Stavrow and Fran Pilisio.
