THE District Singles Championships commenced last Tuesday at Griffith. P Wakeman (L&D) def  E Kerr (Colly), G Vearing (Griff) def D Naylor (L&D), M O’Connell (Griff) def I Wade (Griff), P Jukes (Colly) def C Elliot (Griff) and H Chambers had a bye. P Wakeman (L&D) def P Jukes (Colly) 25/17, M O’connell (Griff) def M Mogliotti (Griff) 26/18, G Vearing (Griff) def J Saddler (Griff) 25/10 & H Chambers won on a forfeit.

The Ladies Triples Tournament was a great success with teams travelling from Ganmain, Lockhart, Lake Cargellico, Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Temora, Coleambally and West Wyalong. 

Dot Semmler, Jan Walker and Janet Bell (L&D) took out first. After finishing on a draw with Lake Cargellico they won on a countback by one end. Temora came third, then Wagga and Ganmain.

The drawn winners last Thursday were Elaine Sullivan and Denise Naylor. Kathy Marks scored a resting toucher. Tomorrow Lorraine Mullins, Estella Errey, Joan Bourke and Lorraine Messner will travel to Hay for their President’s Day.
