That’s the sentiment of school students and staff across the shire, with holidays now in full swing following the end of term one.
Yanco Public School principal Tarnya Grigg has reflected on the success of the first quarter of the school year, which did get off to a rocky start.
A classroom fire in the January school holidays was a headache, but Yanco Public’s students, staff members and the community rallied to ensure there was a minimal effect.
The term ended busily, with the school participating in the SunRice Festival street parade.
The last week was particularly full on, but fun, according to Ms Grigg.

“We celebrated the end of term with an excursion to Griffith to see the amazing Junk performance and free play at the water park afterwards,” she said.
“Our hard working students also participated in a behaviour reward afternoon, enjoying face painting, tattoos, some treats to eat and loads of fun games.”
Rounding out the term was the school’s annual Bike Day where students from kindergarten to year 2 completed a three kilometre track, while years 3 to 6 headed out to the river, completing a huge 20km ride.
“Bike Day is a really fun way to end the school term everyone enjoys it,” Ms Grigg said.
