In the semi-final, Hilary Chambers d Marlene O’Connell (Griff) in a tight game before she breaking away and winning 25/19. Patti Wakeman took the lead early but managed to hang on to win 25/21 against Gwen Vearing (Griff). The finals featured a bit of friendly rivalry, resulting in Patti d Hilary 25/11.
Hay won their Presidents Day last Wednesday, finishing in first and second place, with Leeton Soldiers Club coming in third on a countback. A good day was had by all. P Wakeman, D Naylor & J Fitzpatrick were the winners at social bowls on Thursday; L Mullins took home the lucky draw. A reminder that our monthly meeting will be held after play this Thursday.

Although the weather is generally hot this month, last Wednesday morning proved ideal for bowling with a gentle breeze keeping players comfortable and happy.
After getting off to a slow start, Betty Howard, Margaret McKenzie, Jennie Pike and Jeannie Plant – who was double leading – drew the match with Lorraine McKellar, Colleen Harrison, Val Bloem and Jennie Pikeperseverance paying off.
