The cooler weather last week didn’t deter our eager players from enjoying a game of bowls. Winners were Joan Lloyd, Patti Wakeman, Elaine Sullivan and Judy Heness. There were three resting touchers: Jan Walker, Dot Semmler and Elaine Sullivan. Hilary Chambers won the lucky draw.

LSC: The first round of the drawn triples was played in ideal autumn conditions. Lorraine McKellar's team of Jeannie Plant and Shirley Middleton put a great fight against their opposition, but in the end Margaret McKenzie's team of Colleen Harrison and Lee Noble had a comfortable victory. In the other game, Betty Howard's team of Diane Colyer and Laurel Cox led all the way in a competitive game – only to be pipped at the post by one point.

The winning teams will play the final next week.
