Geoffrey Bull, Lindsay Clemson and Jim Kidman were all honoured with a local achievement award at a recent morning tea with Member for Murray Austin Evans. 

The trio regularly give their time to volunteer at the Leeton Community Op Shop.

Mr Bull, or “Bullie” as he is known helps with the store’s loading dock, unpacks goods, lifts heavy items and is always up for a laugh. 

“The way he receives the donations with a smile and thankyou would warm you up on a cold day,” store manager Jodie Ridge said. 

“’Bullie’ is always ready to help when asked this could be filling in on the truck or even the front counter.

“He started with us eight months ago for two days a week, but you will see him here five days.”

For Mr Kidman, he plays an important part in the store’s men’s cave and mentor program, lending his time two days a week.

He gives his time by cutting rags for sale, as well as offering his assistance with younger volunteers. 

“Jim works along side our younger male volunteers with the sharing of stories and lots of laughter which can be heard coming from the down stairs room … that’s when you know the bonding has started,” Mrs Ridge said.

“Jim has made a difference to many young men.

“This program wouldn’t be were its is with out him. Jim has great stories to share.”

Mr Clemson is the store’s “front of shop man”, volunteering three days a week with reports his customer service is “second-to-none”. 

“The way Lindsay welcomes the op shop customers needs to be seen to be believed,” Mrs Ridge said. 

“The young and young at heart love to stop and chat to him. Lindsay is always ready to help anyone with their purchases.

“As we all know that first impressions count in business and Lindsay never fails to leave the very best impression.”

A morning tea for the trio with Mr Evans helped to celebrate their achievements.
