Leeton’s Anytime Fitness gym will be taking part in Tread Together, which is a 24-hour fundraiser for Suicide Prevention Australia and the National Suicide Prevention Research Fund.
The idea is for members and non-members to pre-register to be sponsored to run (or walk, or dance) on a treadmill for as little as 15 minutes, or for any length of time – all the way up to a full 24 hours on a treadmill at the gym.
The event simultaneously kicks off across the country at 3pm on Friday, May 25.
The overall fundraising goal for Tread Together is $500,000 and Leeton shire residents have been called on to do their part.
What is Suicide Prevention Australia?
Suicide Prevention Australia provides national leadership for the suicide prevention sector in Australia. It works collaboratively to develop a community that knows how to ask for help and how to give help.
