Organic farmer Peter Randall and French chef Eric Pages have joined forces for an event titled The Farmer and the Chef, which will be held during the upcoming long weekend. 

As Mr Pages explained, the concept behind the evening is simple. 

“The idea is simple … we want to use the best produce that is around to showcase what is out there,” the master chef said. 

“It’s always been in the back of my mind to do an event with Peter. 

“This is something which interests people. More and more people are interested in organic produce.

“Come and taste the love and the passion.”

Mr Pages has been using Randall’s Organic Rice for some time in his delicious meals. 

The Australian Organic Market Report 2018 has revealed the nation’s organic industry is worth AU$2.4 billion, with Australia home to about 60 per cent of the world's certified organic land.

Mr Randall’s organic flour, eggs, lamb and rice will all be featured as part of the three-course meal, all complemented by a selected of Rosnay organic wine. 

“Nationally we have chefs all over the country using our rice in their restaurants,” Mr Randall said. 

“The provedence where it (organic food) comes from appeals to people. Who the farmer is, what we do or don’t do – people are interested in what’s going into their bodies.”

Bookings are filling fast so those wanting to attend need to do so before the June 9 event.

The cost is $70 for the three-course meal at Pages on Pine.
