After 13 vehicles were broken into in Leeton over the weekend, police are urging residents to be alert and aware of their surroundings.

With an unprecedented number of break-ins and attempted break-ins around Dooley Lane, Lightwood Street and Palm Avenue, Inspector Nick Seddon is asking Leeton for their assistance in catching those responsible.
“We need to get police on the ground in the area where these incidents are occurring,” he said.
“Be aware of your surroundings – if you see anyone unfamiliar or suspicious please call us immediately so we can task our police appropriately.”
He reminds residents to make sure they take all valuable out of their cars, lock them when you leave them and park in the garage or off the street when possible, and be aware of your street.
“We are really interested in catching those behind these break and enters. Any assistance will be of value.”
