The scholarship is aimed at assisting first year university students attending Deakin University.
Flavourtech Sales Manager Australia Paul Ahn, and Flavourtech Global Sales Director Leon Skaliotis presented Mr Wood with the scholarship.
Flavourtech said they were pleased to present the Grow Your Own Scholarship to Mr Wood, and “proud to be part of this very special initiative to assist up and coming Riverina engineers with their studies.”

Mr Wood commenced his Bachelor of Civil Engineering at Deakin University at the Geelong Campus.
We spoke with Mr Wood to find out how it felt becoming a recipient of such a prestigious award.
“I was stoked.”
He said the scholarship will mean him not having to take a gap year to earn money for his tuition.
“It was awesome, and it’s a big help to get to university,” he said.
Mr Wood commented on the award ceremony, saying that it was “nice”.
“It wasn’t over the top.
“It was just perfect, really.”
When asked what his favourite area of study was he said, without a beat, “maths”.
“Maths is a lot more fun than other subjects,” he said.
“There’s always an answer; always a right answer.”
It is a tradition for university students to live off and indulge in some of life’s simple treats such as instant noodles and, when asked if receiving the scholarship meant no more instant meals, Mr Wood said:
“I still have them on the odd occasion.”
He also shared his secret go-to staple dish: cooked chicken-flavoured instant noodles on toast.
He said “everyone cringes” when he eats it.
Mr Wood said that Paul Ahn and Leon Skaliotis are “great blokes” and he recommends others put in an application for the scholarship.
“If you don’t apply, you never have a chance to get it,” he said.
“I applied not knowing I’d get it.”
Flavourtech started the scholarship program this year and hope that one day the engineering students “return back home full of knowledge and inspiration to help their community grow.”
