The Lions proved they could be legitimate contenders with a tough 14-point win over Leeton-Whitton, 13.12 (90) to 11.10 (76) at Leeton Showground.
Riley Corbett kicked another bag of seven goals, while Scott Proctor was strong through the midfield in his best game for the club.
GGGM coach Christin Macri rated it a better win than the week before’s 80-point triumph over Turvey Park.
The Lions led by 11 points at half-time but broke the game open with a six-goal third term to establish a 38-point advantage at the final change.
GGGM were held goalless in the final quarter as the Crows closed strongly but the damage was done.
The Lions had winners everywhere but Proctor and Corbett were the stars. Jacob Olsson was strong in the ruck, while Josh Walsh restricted Daniel Muir to one goal.
Bryce O’Garey was best for the Crows, while Tom Meline was good across half-forward.
The Lions will now have the bye, and hope to get Josh Bubnich and James Wilson back after the break.
The Crows will take on Coolamon at Kindra Park in a must-win for both clubs.
