Students from St Joseph’s Primary School recently took part in “Italian Day” celebrations where they dressed in traditional outfits, as well as participating in fun activities on the day.
The Italian flag was front and centre, painted on many faces as they learned all about Italian Republic Day.

St Joseph’s Italian teacher Liz Quarisa-Tynan was thrilled the students were excited to learn and participate.
Italian Republic Day is held each year on June 2, with many celebrations taking part throughout the MIA in 2018 to recognise the event.
The date signifies when Italians voted to abolish the monarchy in 1946 so their country could become a republic.
