The team set a club record for taking out their third consecutive win, a feat no other United women’s team has been able to achieve in the past.
It has been an up and down season for the side, who started out with several losses before getting on track with their victories.
On the weekend they travelled to Rawlings Park in Wagga to take on Lake Albert, fighting to move up the ladder to secure seventh position.
The 9am game had the girls battling rain and freezing conditions on a wet and muddy pitch, but the girls were determined to play for their third win in a row.
Lake Albert started off strong, pushing through the LUFC defence to have several shots on goals.
However, Leeton pushed back and managed to put a ball through Lake Albert's defensive line to Catherine Gray, who finished with a goal to close the first half 1-0.
Lake Albert came out strong in the second half and Leeton United were left scrambling in defence to hold them out as goal keeper Katie Burley was forced to dive several times to keep the score to nil.
“As the game went on, the weather worsened with the rain intensifying and the temperature dropping even further,” coach Mark Powter said.
“With only a few minutes left in the game, Ellie Castle took the ball herself and had a huge shot from outside of the box, securing another goal and finishing the game 2-0.
“This win is huge for the women's team, who have now beaten a club record by securing their third consecutive win.”
This week they will take on second place Tolland in Wagga on Sunday.

IN RESERVE grade Leeton United took out a 4-1 victory over Tumut.
Jake Shelton scored the first goal, with Frank Millemaggi then giving leeton a 2-nil lead at half-time.
He then went on to score his second thanks to a free kick outside the box in the second half. Tumut were then able to get one back when they caught the Leeton defence napping before Luke Mandaglio sealed the result with his solo goal of the day.
