The Budget was handed down earlier this week, with businesses the big winners through changes in the payroll tax threshold and fee-free apprenticeships.
“Fee-free apprenticeships will not only save students around $2,000 per course, but students will be able to access courses right across the board at vocational training providers and TAFE NSW,” Mr Evans said.
“This program will make sure that we get more tradies into businesses across the Murray electorate, businesses who are currently crying out for skilled people.”
Mr Evans said payroll tax for many small businesses across the electorate has previously limited growth, but from July 1 the payroll tax threshold will be lifted from $750,000 to $850,000 and will increase by $50,000 a year to reach $1 million in 2021-22.
“The change to payroll tax together with fee-free apprenticeships will be a game changer,” he said.
