A tender for the scheme is yet to be awarded and planning remains in the design and approval stages.
In 2016 Leeton Shire Council was successful in obtaining Restart NSW grant funding of $1.5 million to deliver reticulated sewerage services to Wamoon, with council matching that investment using funds from its sewer reserve fund.
The total project estimate was $3 million.
Manager of water and waste Greg Richards stated in his report to council stated while the project had been delayed, it was still progressing.
“The new targeted completion date of the project is set down for June, 2019,” he said.
“The delays in obtaining the relevant approvals are due to the decision to relocate the sewage treatment plant site to a more appropriate site which is further away from residents.”
