This year’s Leeton Chill and Grill festival will move away from its traditional home at Mountford Park and will also be held at a different time of the day.
October 13 has been locked in for the foodie fun fest, which will relocate to the town ovals car park as a night market.
Leeton Shire Council events officer Hannah Fitzsimon acknowledged a car park location may sound slightly funny compared to a park, but said there was nothing to fear.
“We’ll be blocking off some of the car park and getting in all of the stalls in that location … we wanted to create a bit more atmosphere,” she said.
“Night markets are really trendy right now, so we’re hoping to tap into that.”
This year’s event will be opened up to all kinds of food and beverage stalls, which in the past had been limited to local producers.
The Leeton Multicultural Group is on board, so residents can expect to experience all kinds of different cuisine.

Stallholders were also previously limited to serving up dishes with a $5 limit, but now they will be able to create, bake, make and serve their food at whatever price they wish.
Planning for the event is in its early stages and some logistics are still to be locked down.
However, Miss Fitzsimon was confident the community and the wider area would get behind the concept.
“It is something new and different,” she said.
“There’s been a few comments (on social media) since we announced we’d be moving it from the park.
“Most people were concerned with parking, but we’ll only be shutting off a section of the area so there’s still plenty of room for parking.
“I think people will support the idea.”
The chill and grill event was first held in 2016, with celebrity chef Paul West attending the first two festivals.
This year’s event will be held on October 13 from 4pm to 9pm.
