TOYOTA continues to maintain its reputation as the number one motor vehicle manufacturer in the Australian market, with a clear lead in national sales figures.
Having sold 216,566 vehicles last year, Toyota led the market last month with a 17.8 per cent share of the market, followed by Mazda (9.6 per cent) and Hyundai (8 per cent).
According to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), the number-one model on Australia’s car-buying list in 2017 was the Toyota Hilux and this has continued in 2018.
After two years in a row as the best-selling vehicle in the country, Hilux recorded 5787 sales in June.
Toyota claimed three of the top-10 spots in the 2017 sales figures – Hilux at one, Corolla at three and Camry at nine.
