Leeton police conducted a Vikings Operation throughout the shire on the weekend in search of those in possession of illegal drugs. While no one was apprehended, police were concerned at the number of patrons in Leeton hotels that became agitated and aggressive during searches of the premises. 

MASSACRE ON THE FOOTY FIELD

The Greens got little more than a couple of injuries in its 92-4 routing of Black and Whites. The Griffith club hit a new low, fielding 10 men against the ladder leaders. The sorry 68-minute saga left the Greens with two points, a percentage boost and hamstring injuries.

CROWS FIND FORM AT LAST

Leeton-Whitton turned on its best game of the season to register a 122-point thumping of Turvey Park at Maher Oval on Saturday.

EIGHTEEN VIE FOR COUNCIL

There will be an election for all three wards in Leeton this year, contrary to the last council election in which there were only three nominees for B ward.

ROADS UPGRADES LISTED AS PRIORITIES

Infrastructure upgrade plans for the next four years have been mapped out, with Main Road 539 and sub-arterial roads listed as priorities. 

DUO REACH MILESTONE

Leeton-Whitton’s Matt Flagg and Daniel Sullivan had the rare chance to mark an important milestone together last weekend, with the pair each celebrating their 100th first grade game with a victory over the Eastern Hawks. 

ROXY FAREWELLS CLOSE FRIEND

Roxy Theatre projectionist, Warren Belford, was farewelled by his fellow workmates during a ceremony after 25 years at the theatre.

Hawks’ playmaker Daniel Watt has been soaring high of late. The 22-year-old is fresh from a season high of four tries against Narrandera in Yanco-Wamoon’s 50-point victory and his sights are on the Leeton Greens.
