The parade started Book Week celebrations, with this year's theme of “Find Your Treasure” inspiring many designs.
Many students ran with the pirate theme or leaned on their favourite authors and characters for inspiration.
Parkview Public principal Travis Irvin was impressed with the effort that went into the costumes.

“As always there was wonderful support from the community, with parents and carers enthusiastically assisting in the design of many costumes,” he said.
“Around 400 children engaged in the parade and around that number of community members attended the school to witness the parade and enjoy a family lunch afterwards.
“Book Week continues to act as a wonderful catalyst for the celebration of literature and the development of a love of reading in the Parkview community.”
Each year across Australia, the Children’s Book Council of Australia brings children and books together to mark Book Week.
During this time schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children celebrate Australian children's literature.
The idea is to also encourage reading and enjoying books of all genres among students.
- Other schools and their Book Week fun will also feature in The Irrigator in the coming weeks.
