That’s how Leeton actor Jake Speer describes the process behind his short film Inside Water, which was filmed in Leeton and surrounds earlier this year.
Since filming wrapped in April, the small, but dedicated team behind the movie have spent countless hours overseeing the composition and recording of the film's original score, as well as the colour grading, theatrical sound mixing and digital processing.
“We have worked closely with one of Australia's leading post-production studios, Soundfirm, at Fox Studios in Sydney and collaborated with Oscar-winning sound mixer Andy Wright on finalising the incredibly detailed sound design for the film,” Mr Speer said.
“Although I may be a tad bias, after watching the completed film (last week), we are all so incredibly proud of this film and know it will resonate with audiences around the world.
“We have every faith this film has got what it takes to compete at the highest level in film festivals both here at home and overseas.
“It is by far the most challenging, ambitious and rewarding thing I have ever done in my career and I am so grateful that it all happened in my hometown.”

The first public screening of the film will take place at the Roxy Theatre on October 6, which will include a red carpet arrival of cast, crew and special guests.
This will also include the showing of Making Of, which is a documentary showing how the Inside Water process came together.
“We would love to see the whole town come out to say G’Day and support the film,” Mr Speer said.
By the time the film screens in Leeton it will have already been submitted to four international film festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival and Flickerfest.
“One thing I have never forgotten throughout this entire process is the incredibly generous and supportive people and businesses of Leeton and the surrounding area,” Mr Speer said.
“One of my greatest pleasures as a producer is bringing people together to create opportunity and unify a team around a collective creative vision.”
