The Sunday Telegraph reported “NSW Police can confirm a senior officer attached to the Murrumbidgee Police District has been suspended pending further inquiries."
The confirmation on Tuesday comes after reports District Commander Detective Superintendent Michael Rowan was the subject of an internal investigation.

A spokesperson for NSW Police confirmed the investigation was still under way.
Reports in April alleged Superintendent Rowan gave two female employees preferential treatment, but the content of the investigation is yet to be divulged.
“NSW Police can confirm the Professional Standards Command is currently examining a complaint matter,” they said.
“While that process remains underway it is inappropriate to make any further specific comment.”
It is not yet known how long the investigation will take.
“The NSW Police Force has a rigorous framework in place to ensure all complaint matters are thoroughly investigated.”
