While the old favourites will certainly be part of the event, the idea in 2018 is to get the community more involved with all aspects of the show.
This includes pavilion competitions, with entries now a flat fee of just $5 whether you’re entering once or 100 times.
There’s also the traditional horse events, Big Day Out 4 Pets and, this year, organisers have added a “doggie high jump, so all pooch owners have been urged to enter their furry pets.
Leeton Show Society president Liz Munn said the main entertainment draw card this year will be Eljay Freestyle Entertainment, which is Australia’s top freestyle motorcycle & bicycle trials stunt show.
“That will be on both the Friday night and Saturday … it’s an exciting performance that will appeal to everyone,” she said. “All of our planning is on track.

“Every year we are trying to improve and present a show that the community wants to be involved with. That’s what it’s all about it. It’s a community event for everyone.
“It’s more than just sideshow alley. It’s about our agricultural industries, the pavilions and the talent on show there, and all of the other great events and activities that are involved.
“The rides are a fantastic part of the show as well and something young and old enjoy.” The Friday night fireworks display will again be happening, as well as novelty events and more.
Miss Munn was hopeful residents would again get behind the event and show their support by turning out. “We’d love to see as many people there as possible,” she said.
“I can guarantee you won’t be bored. We’ve got something for everyone and their interests.”
Miss Munn is no stranger to agricultural shows, having grown up around them, as well as being the president of the Leeton SHow Society for several years.
“I have a lot of favourite parts of the show, but definitely the fireworks,” she said.
The show will be held on October 5 and 6. Gates open at 4pm on the Friday and 9am on the Saturday.
