The Crows are yet to defeat the Bulldogs this season, but their last encounter in the semi-final was only a narrow five-goal loss.
It’s been an unusual finals campaign for the team, who originally finished in fifth at the end of the home and away season.
However, when Wagga Tigers were stripped of points having played an unregistered player, the Crows jumped into third, which secured them a second chance in the finals series.
B grade coach Nicole Matthews had nothing but praise for her side.
“They have worked hard all year and definitely deserve to be in the grand final … they have done everyone proud,” she said.
The B grade team is the only side from the Leeton-Whitton Football and Netball Club to have made a grand final this season, so it is hoped fans will get around them on Saturday at Narrandera Sportsground.
Matthews acknowledged the game would be a hard one, but was confident the girls could get the job done.
“I think if everyone can do their job throughout the court and keep a cool head, that’s going to give us every advantage,” she said.
“To the girls credit, they never give up.
“If they keeps their heads up when something goes wrong, they are certainly in with a shot.”
The team has been training at the Leeton Indoor Stadium throughout the finals to prepare for the matches in Narrandera.
“It’s mostly been the basic things in the last couple of weeks that we’ve been working on,” Matthews said.
“They are a great bunch of girls and it’s been an honour to coach them.”
The B grade final will get underway at 11.20am.
