“I was from Ganmain and Bob from Coolamon,” Judy said.
“After we got married we stayed in that area for a while and then there was a time where Bob was working in Wagga too.
“We came to Leeton in around 1962.
“I started doing the seasons at the cannery and from then on we stayed.
“It was a great place to raise a family.”
The pair moved to Yanco five years ago.
They were both looking forward to celebrating this weekend with all of their loved ones.
Bob said there were many happy times over the years.
“I guess it is pretty special (to reach our 60th anniversary),” he said.
“You don’t really think about it.
“You just get on with every day.”
Their wedding day in December, 1958 was a warm one.
“I remember it being very hot,” Judy reflected.
“But it was a great day.
“We had a lovely time. I remember my dress, the flowers.
“It was a great occasion.”
Sixty years married is nothing to be sneezed, with the pair acknowledging the commitment of marriage took plenty of hard work.
“I think it’s a lot of patience and compromise,” Judy said.
“You just have to take each day as it comes.”
