Sound good? That’s exactly what the organisers of this year’s Chill and Grill in Leeton have in mind for their 2018 event.
Chill and Grill will be trying out a new location this time around, moving from a day event in Mountford Park to a twilight festive atmosphere in the town ovals carpark.
Leeton Shire Council events officer Hannah Fitzsimon said residents needed to forget the usual images conjured up when picturing a carpark.
“We’re going to transform the area where we are holding Chill and Grill … it’s not going to look like a carpark,” she said.
“Think about what the night markets in city areas are like and that’s what we are aiming for.”
Chill and Grill will be a food and beverage market only, with many delicious options to already choose from.
Already around 20 stallholders have been locked in and there’s a range of food and drinks that will have the mouth-watering.
Everything from espresso martinis, Yenda Beer, wine from Leeton’s two wineries and coffee to the Cold Rock ice cream van, pasta, American barbecue, paella, Italian sausage Japanese noodles and charcoal meat skewers will be among the items available on the night to fill the tummy.

The Leeton Multicultural Group has also come on board to cook up a variety of delicious meals for the community to taste.
“We’re doing quite well in terms of stallholders … there’s been a lot of interest,” Miss Fitzsimon said.
“That being said if there are still people out there who want to have a stall they can get in touch with us and we can fit them in.”

Chill and Grill will transform part of the carpark, leaving ample room on either side for those attending to leave their vehicles.
“There will be plenty of room for parking,” Miss Fitzsimon said.
“We’re really excited about how it is all shaping up.
“It’s going to be a great evening. We really hoping to get a big crowd.” Chill and Grill will be held from 4pm to 9pm on October 13.
