Last week we enjoyed the company of two of our granddaughters for a week of the school holidays.

For us, every day was a new adventure while living under the same roof with Miss 11 and Miss 9.
On the Wednesday morning we were preparing gift bags for an afternoon workshop. One of the items to go in the bags was a flyer which listed “100 Random Acts of Kindness”.
The girls read the list out loud and exclaimed how cool it was, and quickly realised they already did some of these things without even knowing they were doing random acts of kindness.
Miss 11 then said that now they had read the list they had lots of new ideas on how they could be kind to others.
Also on the flyer was a message “Smile at strangers. We’re in this together.”
Miss 9 thought about this for a moment and then said “Yes! If you smile at someone and say hi it really makes them happy”
While this conversation was taking place, I stood back as a silent witness and listened in awe.
I felt so blessed and incredibly proud to have these little people in our lives.
I now feel compelled to bless more people with random acts of kindness and hope they too will pay it forward to someone else in their own special way!
If you would like to join this movement, but are running short on ideas, shoot me a facebook message or email me sgavel@bigpond.net.au and I will gladly send you the list.
It is indeed cool to be kind!
