Yarn by the River is a unique gathering place in Narrandera’s CBD. Hayley Currie, its founder, developed it from a backyard business to a thriving enterprise. It has a vintage feel about it and is outfitted with specially selected second-hand furniture designed to hold the supplies crafters desire, especially those who knit, crochet, sew and work with threads, including weavers.

When Hayley decided to sell the business, along came Kellie Castle who eventually purchased the hub.
Well, believe it or not, it has changed hands for a third time. The latest purchaser is schoolteacher Julie Rowe, who happens to be a colleague of Ms Currie. No one could be happier than the people of Narrandera who desperately wanted the store to stay open. Both Hayley and Kellie have offered their support to this fledgling business owner. No doubt Julie will soon be weaving her own successful story in the enterprise known as Yarn by the River.

A 60th wedding anniversary is an exceptional affair and Margaret and Len Jones have just celebrated theirs at Narrandera Racing Club with family and friends, many of the latter from childhood days. It was an exciting time for Margaret and Len for other reasons, too. Four generations of their families came from almost every state in the country to be with them on their big day.
Margaret thanked Denise Di Salvia for providing the camellias for the table, CanAssist members who did a wonderful job with the meals on the day and Narrandera Racing Club person Lee Sweeney.
