Clinical Nurse Specialist and Midwife are the two official titles of Christine Hedditch, who somehow manages to do much more than these positions entail.

She lives by the philosophy ‘a day without learning is a day wasted,’ which is clear in how far she has dedicated herself to the pursuit of knowledge.
As a second of three generations of nursing, Mrs Hedditch is unable to recall when she first dreamed of a career in nursing.
“However I do remember spending my 16th birthday at Narrandera Hospital undertaking work experience,” she said.
“It's truly a rewarding career with so many specialty options to chose from.”
It was there her passion for nursing ignited, and now has many qualifications under her belt, enabling her to provide the best level of care.
Mrs Hedditch commenced her training at Wodonga District Hospital as one of six nurses in their October intake. She made her return to nursing 16 years ago after dedicating time at home to raise her children.
Almost immediately her pursuit of excellence within the profession became apparent, as she quickly rose through the ranks by throwing herself into educational opportunities.
Starting as an Assistant In Nurse, to an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse studying at TAFE, and was awarded academic excellence.
Hungering for knowledge, she was not satisfied with her qualifications so she decided to go on and complete her Bachelor of Nursing through Charles Sturt University, graduating in 2008.
Becoming an ambassador for the midwifery program for local women.
She attends to the needs of local women and their babies during antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal phases. Her university studies included Master of Midwifery with the coveted Deans award in 2012.

She’s also done rural nursing studies, trauma nursing care and First Line Emergency Care Course (FLECC) in both Paediatrics and Adults.
“I'm always happy to mentor and support junior nurses and would strongly encourage others to consider a career in nursing,” Mrs Hedditch said.
