The women are a chance of making next weekend’s grand final, but the men’s chances are smaller.

In the men’s competition, West Wyalong are already through to the big dance, meaning Leeton will have their work cut out. 

If the men are to book a spot not only will they need to beat the undefeated West Wyalong outfit, but they will also need Narrandera to take care of Griffith. 

While a grand final appearance may be unlikely, men’s coach Adam O’Callaghan said the only thing he could ask of his team was to play as a unit and hit their targets. 

“If they do that, I’ll be happy,” he said. “We’ve definitely improved as the weeks have gone on.

“It should be an interesting game this weekend. They have nothing to lose.” 

Last weekend the Eagles took on Narrandera, with the men scoring a 81-58 win and the women a 68-40 victory. 

Women’s coach Josh Clyne said Saturday’s game was a must-win for his team. 

“We need to win this week to make the final … last time we played West Wyalong we won by about seven points,” he said. 

“The biggest thing this season has been our consistency, but hopefully with the home-court advantage we will be able to get the win.” 

Both the men’s and women’s teams expect to take in similar sides from last weekend into Saturday’s games.

The women start at 4pm, the men at 6pm.
