Hundreds of band members from across the region, as well as the wider state area, converged on Leeton for the annual event.
A meet and greet on Friday evening got the weekend underway in fine fashion thanks to performances and jam sessions.
This was followed by a Saturday morning like no other in Leeton’s main street area with bands setting up in various shops and stores, as well as outside on the footpath for residents to enjoy their musical stylings.
Residents who were grabbing their morning coffee or doing a spot of shopping were able to hear from the talented musicians and singers at no cost.
Three times throughout the morning a marching band also made its way down the main street.
Leeton Town Band president Steve Hill said the event continued to attract high-quality bands each year.
“It’s a fantastic weekend every year … a lot of these bands are competing all of the time, so they love coming here to just have a bit of fun,” he said.
“There’s always a real buzz around the main street on the Saturday morning.
“It really comes alive. You walk around and you can hear the bands playing and everyone just has these big smiles on their faces. It’s great.”
Another big attraction was the massed band concert at the Roxy Theatre on Saturday night, with the building packed to the rafters.
On Sunday the festivities moved to Mountford Park where more music was played and special performances from primary school students helped commemorate Remembrance Day.
It was also an opportunity for residents to get up close and personal with the bands and their instruments.
Mr Hill said the event would continue on again in 2019, with planning to get underway as early as next week. “It was another successful weekend … all of the bands who came are just fabulous and I know everyone is already excited for next year,” he said.
