The MIA branch of MS Australia will again be hosting its annual charity golf day and residents of all ages have been invited to take part.
The format is a four-person ambrose competition, which includes many novelty events and fun throughout.
MIA Branch of MS Australia president Joan Dartnell was amazed at the generosity shown by businesses in 2018 to help ensure there would be many great prizes up-for-grabs.
One of the major prizes is a helicopter ride over Leeton for four winners.
“It is a big ask for businesses to continually put their hands in pockets, this is a (worthy) fundraiser, being our major event for the year,” Mrs Dartnell said.
A barbecue will be on offer, with volunteers from several clubs lending a hand on the day.
Leeton golf professional Jason Mimmo has also been thanked for his efforts in co-ordinating and organising the morning.
Money raised as a result helps MIA residents who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
“(They) need equipment and help with renovations to (their homes),” she said.
“As well as things such as medical and pharmaceutical supplies, electric lifters, wheelchairs, special bedding, shower chairs and more.

“Our aim is to help keep people with MS out of nursing homes and remain in their family home and workplace.
“This helps them with their dignity and independence within their home and community.”
The branch also runs a hydrotherapy session at the Griffith indoor pool each week with volunteers helping patients under the guidance of a physiotherapist.
There are currently more than 60 people with MS living in the branch area, which covers Leeton, Whitton, Yanco, Griffith, Yenda, Beelbangera, Barellan, Ardlethan, Hillston, Hay, Coleambally, Darlington Point, Goolgowi, Coolamon and Narrandera.
The event will be held at the Leeton golf course on Sunday. The cost is $40 per person or $20 for 16 years and under. Register now at the pro shop.
