The Leeton Lions Club is hosting a drought relief variety afternoon on Sunday and everyone is invited for a relaxing day of music and fun. 

On the cards is entertainment from Remedy, Lorena Quinlivan, John Martin, Mark Smith, Anthony Iannelli and many more. 

The idea behind the day is to raise money for farmers experiencing tough times as a result of the drought. 

Leeton Lions Club president Sheree Collins said the event would be an ideal way to spend a Sunday. 

“It’s a great set up at the Jockey Club, there’s plenty of shade, so people can bring a chair and blanket down and relax and enjoy the music,” she said. 

“We had been thinking of having a variety day, but then we thought it would be even better to do it as a fundraiser for farmers. 

“All of the proceeds will be donated to drought relief … it will be helping farmers in our area. 

“People who want to find out more about how to access the money raised can get in touch with me.”

The musical talents on show will cover many different genres to entertain all ages.

A food van will also be on site, with drinks also available. 

“We just hope we get the support down there on the day,” Mrs Collins said. 

“It’s going to be a great day out. Come in the morning, come in the afternoon or come for the whole day.” 

Entry is $20 per adult and $5 for children aged 12 and under. Gates open at 11.30am on Sunday at the Leeton Jockey Club.
