On Friday she was presented with a Victor Chang school science award among 21 others from across the wider region.
Named after the late cardiac surgeon and pioneer of modern heart transplantation, Dr Victor Chang, the awards were established to celebrate young, gifted students and to foster growth in scientific studies.
The award also helps to raise community awareness and appreciation of the important contribution scientists can make to everyday lives.
Studying biology, chemistry and agriculture, Bianca said she had worked hard in these subjects throughout year 11 having now stepped into year 12 at the start of the current term.

“To get this award I had to top science award,” she said.
“I hadn’t heard about the award before I got it, but I had heard about Victor Chang, so I was pretty surprised, but proud when I got it.”
Dr Gavin Chapman from the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute believes by guiding and encouraging students to consider a career in science fields, the legacy of Australian discovery will not only continue but will grow to be even stronger.
“By nurturing these inquisitive scientific minds, we are cementing a strong future for Australian research,” he said.
“We’ve got such a proud history of discovery and it’s through students like these, that the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics will continue to flourish in Australia.”
With year 12 now looming, Miss Smith said she would continue to focus on doing well in the classes.
“When I finish I want to go to uni and do an ag science degree and become an agronomist,” she said. “I just think it’s all really interesting.
“You do have to do a lot of hard work and study, but there’s so many interesting things about science and the subjects I’m studying. There’s always something different to learn about.”
Bianca attended an official ceremony at Junee High School on Friday where she formally accepted the award.
