DOUBLE Trouble for round seven of the twilight golf competition last week as two new junior players, Adelaide Heins and Kalem Thompson, win the Players of the Round in their first outings. They both shot eight under par, nett 28, and win a sleeve of balls each. The carwash token is going the way of Lorraine Kefford (next best score from a player with a driver’s licence) who had a brilliant nett 29 early in the week.

Other good rounds were had by Lizzie Harriso,n 29, Troy Evans, 30, Nick Paterson, 31, Maggi O‘Callaghan and Kerren Barnes had spare card 31s, Frank Alampi, Daniel Muir, Barry Heins, Kurtis Fisher, James Flood and Rennie Simpson all had 32, and Jamie Broadbent and Bailey Stanmore rounded out the mentions on 33 nett. The ball comp again stretched out to 34 or better.
The team of the round was a clear decision with Guns n Roses lapping the field with an astonishing 20 under team par nett 160 courtesy of Lorraine Kefford, Kerren Barnes, Maggi O and Craig Kefford. The next best team the Whymees were a whopping 14 shots behind and When’s Smoko were a further stroke back and made up ground on the overall ladder. Guns n Roses projected themselves straight to the top of the championship ladder passing last week’s leaders 8 balls and G who might find the going tough from now on after a lightening start to their first twilight campaign. Balls Deep still couldn’t find a lot with 184 even after some encouraging words from past player Dale “I built the Leeton Stadium” Symes who made a cameo appearance.
Teams need to encourage their slacker members this week to get on course as a few decided to leave the work up to half of the team, teams without a full compliment of players are reminded they can bring in new people to fill the spots.
This weekend has no restrictions on twilight golf rounds but in general avoid between 10am to 1pm on Saturday with the members competition being played.
