Late last year Travis was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma – a form of bone cancer.
What followed was months in hospital and only fleeting visits back home in between treatments.
In September Travis was allowed home after surgery and completing his chemotherapy and, in more good news for him and his family, he was recently declared cancer free.
Leading into Christmas, the news has brought many tears of happiness, relief and joy for the Newman family.

“Travis is officially cancer free, his scans came back all clear,” his mother Linda Newman said.
When Travis came back home to restart a “normal” life, his grandmother Rhonda Horsey decided she wanted to do something to give back.
During his time in Sydney, Travis was often helped by the charity Little Wings.
Mrs Horsey decided she would hold a raffle to raise funds for the group and, in the process, was able to collect $1400 as a result.
The lucky winner was Anne Baldwin from Yanco, with Jaedyn Kreis of Grong Grong the runner-up.
Little Wings is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to provide professional, safe and free flight and ground transfer services for children from rural and regional NSW to specialised medical services at the children’s hospitals in the city area.
