The 21 yards were stolen sometime between June and November from the Whitton Common area.
Six of those were slightly rusted and spray painted blue, while the rest were galvanized steel and had letters and numbers spray painted on them in yellow.
The yards had been left in the common while they weren’t needed.
On November 20, a rural crime investigator attended an address in Stanbridge as part of inquiries.
The investigator spoke to a female at the address who police said “provided reasonings for her having the yards”.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing.
