That was the beauty of this year’s Schools Spectacular event in Sydney last week, with students from Leeton High School, Leeton Public School and Parkview Public School all participating in the huge event.
The Leeton representatives were among 5000 stars taking to the stage, including 40 featured performers, an incredible 100-piece symphony orchestra, stage band, 2700-voice choir, 2300 amazing dancers, the D’Arts Ensemble disability program, the Aboriginal Dance Company, puppets and an indispensable behind-the-scenes team.

After days of rehearsals in Sydney, not to mention the preparation back in Leeton in the lead up, the schools were able to live up to this year’s theme – The Greatest.
Leeton Public School student Jessica Laing-Morales said Schools Spectacular was an experience she wouldn’t forget.
“We were so excited, because both the dance group and the choir were going on stage this year,” she said.
“Overall we had four performances – two matinees and two evening performances.
“Throughout them all, my favourite thing was being able to perform with my friends beside me.
“The experience was one I will remember forever.”
Schools Spectacular for both the students and their teachers was the culmination of many months of rehearsals and hard work.
The hard work doesn’t stop for Leeton High, with its creative arts department currently preparing for its MADD night performances.
