The chamber will hold a sidewalk sale in the main street on Saturday from 9am to 1pm in a bid to not only encourage residents to spend their money on Christmas presents in town, but to also give retailers a much-needed boost this festive season.
Adding to the incentive will be the chance to win $1000 by just spending $10 or more at any Leeton business between now and December 8 and dropping an entry form into the barrel outside the Leeton Community Op Shop.

Chamber president Wayne Bond said while the message of shopping local this festive season remained the same, he wanted the community to know why it is important.
“The money we spend in Leeton helps our small businesses … they need our support,” he said.
“Hopefully the sidewalk sale will draw customers in.
“There’s going to be many great sales and deals on the day.
“The businesses have been very receptive to the idea.”
Santa photos will also be available on Saturday for a gold coin donation from 10am to noon at 133A Pine Avenue next to the Commonwealth Bank.
Proceeds will go towards the Leeton Community Christmas Lunch.
Next year the chamber hopes to make an even bigger push for residents to shop local.
Mr Bond said with the new executive still finding its feet, the organisation wanted to start off with an event it knew had worked in the past before making bigger inroads in 2019.
The chamber has also introduced a casual get together on the first Friday off every month where business owners and staff can meet up for a chat and refreshments to network and download on the week just gone.
In conjunction with the NSW Business Enterprise Centre, it will also host a Leeton Online workshop on Wednesday at the Leeton Soldiers Club from 6pm to 7.30pm that is aimed at helping businesses improve their online marketing presence.
