According to Ms Cooke, “The new multi-functional laboratory includes wet and dry laboratory areas, microscopy rooms, genetics and environmental DNA facilities, a temperature-controlled aquaria tank room and sample processing facilities.”
Needless to say, fisheries staff are highly excited by the possibilities of their new lab facilities.

NARRANDERA is proud of its tree-lined streets and members of council and residents expressed concern when trees had to be removed due to age, infestation and the like. To overcome the problem, a bundled priority tree maintenance/replacement program was developed by Narrandera Shire Council. This will make bundled jobs worthwhile for contractors and cheaper for the shire.
So far this season 169 of 184 trees have been planted throughout the shire. Mass tree plantings have occurred in Marie Bashir Park (60), along the Irrigation Way town entrance (20), Red Hill Industrial Estate (40) and in the vicinity of the Big Tennis Racquet at Barellan (six).
Safety of streetscapes, parkland and private gardens has been high on the list of considerations in executing the council’s Tree Management Plan, but we’ll accept all of the other benefits which come with beautiful trees enhancing our small town environment. Pay us a visit in any season and judge for yourself.

THE little people of the Narrandera Shire are entering the phase of going from pre-school to kindergarten orientation classes in readiness for their school start in 2019. Raring to go, it is heart-warming to see their enthusiasm.
