The festive spirit arrived just in time for the many Leeton residents who attended this year’s Carols in the Park event on Saturday night.
Armed with their chairs and picnic blankets, the crowd turned out in solid numbers to hear all of their favourite Christmas tunes being performed.
Among those taking to the stage this year was John and Jack Martin, the Riverina Men’s Choir, Borneo Choir, Leeton Town Band, school and church groups and many more.

Organiser of this year’s event Alan Chesworth said all of the hard work in the lead up to the carols had paid off.
“It was a fantastic evening,” he said.
“Everyone was coming up and saying what a great night it was.
“Some even said it was the best one yet, which was really fantastic to hear.”
The carols are held each year in the park to celebrate the festive season as a whole shire, no matter one’s religious denomination.
The ecumenical event has become an institution in town.
“I think it is important these traditions do continue every year,” Mr Chesworth said.
“It’s great to see the community come together and enjoy a night like this.
“To me, that’s what it’s all about.”
Many residents also donned their best festive outfits and accessories to get into the spirit.
