A MAN who was punching himself and swearing had to be brought under control by police in Yanco on Christmas Eve.

Officers were called to a laneway in the town about 10pm after reports of a prowler in the area.
Police patrolled the area and soon came across a 31-year-old man standing in the middle of the road.
After attempting to approach him, the man started yelling, swearing and punching himself.
It is alleged he also attempted to “provoke police into a fight”.
Police were able to confront the man and bring him under control before he was issued with a criminal infringement notice for offensive behaviour.
Damaged, but nothing stolen
A VEHICLE parked in a carport in Railway Avenue had its driver’s side window smashed by unknown offenders last week.
The owners of the vehicle were home at the time when the incident occurred sometime between 8.30pm on December 28 and 8am on December 29.
It didn’t appear that anything was stolen and the owners of the vehicle didn’t hear or notice the incident occurring at the time.
Christmas arrest for woman
A 38-YEAR-OLD Wagga woman tried to pull a swifty over police in Leeton on Christmas night.
Officers were at a petrol station in Leeton when the woman allegedly attempted to shoplift a jar of coffee and baseball bat.

The woman is believed to have tried to walk past the officers with the items that hadn’t been paid for.
The store attendant alerted police and she was promptly issued with a court attendance notice for stealing.
