The Blackwood Street property, owned by the Department of Housing, went up in flames around 3am on January 4, but it was unoccupied at the time.
Emergency services were alerted by a neighbour who heard the sound of glass breaking and went to investigate, finding the home fully alight.
Forensic services have attended the property and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
Fire causes damage
LEETON Fire and Rescue were called to a property on Toorak Road around just before noon on January 4 after reports of a fire.
The owners of the home were inside at the time when they heard a loud bang and went outside to investigate.
A gazebo structure was on fire with the flames inching close to the house, causing some damage.
