A final report released regarding the future of local government areas has suggested Narrandera shire merges with Leeton.

Childcare centres in NSW must now be given documents from parents that show their child is fully vaccinated for their age, has a medical reason not be immunised, has a conscientious objection, or their child is on a recognised “catchup schedule” if they have fallen behind with their vaccinations. Failure to do so means a centre can ban a child from attending.

Leeton Shire’s new general manager David Laugher took up his new role this week, lured to Leeton by change, the ability to work directly with the community and family ties. Mr Laugher relocated with his wife and pet dog from their home in Tallangatta.

Plans for an increase in the national citrus levy by the Australian Citrus Growers have been put on hold after growers rejected the proposal. The majority of the 30 per cent eligible who voted in the Riverina found a further increase to their costs hard to swallow
DIGITAL TV SET TO IMPRESS
Leeton residents will now be able to experience the full benefits of digital television after Prime and WIN Television in Griffith began transmitting digitally on January 1. So far the upgrade, which has followed ABC going digital in the MIA in July last year and SBS in November, has meant no interruptions to current analogue services.
