The 2006 Ford Falcon sedan was taken from a Wirilda Street home with the owner a Leeton man.
However, to the man’s dismay the vehicle was later located in the River Road area after being destroyed by fire.
It appeared the car had been dragged from a nearby tree, which was also scorched as a result of the fire.
Anyone with information should contact Leeton police.
Car abandoned after accident
LEETON police are looking into a car accident on Brady Way on January 9 around 10pm.
Police allege a vehicle was speeding down the road when it hit a power pole, snapping it in half.

Murrumbidgee Police District Chief Inspector John Wadsworth said four people were believed to be in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
“Those people have fled the scene following the accident,” he said. “Police are following up with the registered owner.” Essential Energy was also called to the scene.
