The pair were both born at the Leeton District Hospital just a day apart, with Mrs Tremellen entering the world on October 5, 1948 and Mr Tremellen the following day on October 6.
Their mothers knew each other and the pair were in the same nursery together.
While the two both grew up in the shire – Mr Tremellen in Murrami, attending Leeton Public School and Leeton High School and Mrs Tremellen at St Joseph’s Primary School and then boarding school – the pair didn’t actually meet until 1968.
Their first meeting came when they attended the wedding of Brian and June Hillman, who still live in Leeton.
It was love at first sight for the pair and they were married a year later on January 25, 1968 in Sydney.
After making their home in Leeton, Mrs Tremellen worked at Fosseys and Mr Tremellen at the rice mill.

Mr Tremellen was also an honourary ambulance officer at the Leeton station to gain experience and training prior to taking on a position in Narrandera.
From Narrandera the pair and their growing family moved to Gove in the Northern Territory as part of the newly-opened Bauxite mining venture.
The pair lived there with their three sons for 26 years and now reside in Brisbane, although Mr Tremellen said Leeton would “always be our home”.
With their 50th wedding anniversary coming up next week on January 25, he said they were planning a celebration with their family and friends.
“We’ll be having a dinner the night before with our family and then a big party the next day,” Mr Tremellen said.
“It’s been a wonderful 50 years for both of us.
“As with anything there are good and bad times, but most of the time the good outweighs the bad.
“Lyn has always been there for me and I’ve always been there for her.
“I guess it was a little bit like fate.” The pair are now also grandparents and love watching their family grow.
