Residents at Carramar have been making a new friend in the last month or so in the form of Lucy the greyhound, who is the new companion animal at the aged care facility.
Lucy was donated by Leeton resident Peter Richey, who did race several times, but is now spending her days making residents smile.
Carramar acting nurse unit manager Tracy Guthrie said she was providing residents with many good times.

“She’s been a good topic of conversation for them … they are taking ownership of her,” Mrs Guthrie said.
“It’s wonderful to see them interacting with her.
“She’s very gentle and placid.”
Community members wanting to donate food for Lucy are welcome to do so.
