ROUND three of the Leeton Squash singles/doubles competition took place last Thursday evening in balmy 45 degree conditions - luckily the aircon helped out the competitors to a certain extent.

The first players to enter the Thursday furnace were Blayne Thompson and Sean Ryan (subbing for his son Declan).
Sean claimed the win 32-31.
Brian O’Leary toppled the evergreen Bryan Shepley 41-34 and in the doubles Shepley and Thompson got points back winning 30-24.
On court two Siarne Deeves defeated John Gown 42-23, while Ian Hookway, who was subbing defeated Simone Bruno, 39-24.
Siarne and Simone then combined in the doubles to defeat John and Ian 31-26 giving team Harrows the overall victory.

THE 7pm timeslot saw Callum Ryan defeat Dawid Croucamp 47-24; Jacob Harrison won against Col Thompson 28-23 and in the doubles Col and Callum defeated Jacob and Dawid 32-28 making team Wilsons the victors.
Court two had Mick and Sarah McAliece (father and daughter) compete with Mick taking the win 36-32.
Nicholas Croucamp defeated Brianna Gray Mills 40-35, Brianna and Mick in the doubles defeated Nicholas and Sarah 42-21 giving the win to team Karakals.

THE 8pm session saw Marcelle Steele defeat Gary Thompson 50-27; Ryan Thurgood got the better of Declan Ryan 34-22 meaning the doubles match would decide the outcome with Ryan and Gary sneaking home against Declan and Marcelle 30-28 giving team Gray’s the outright win.
