The Leeton Local Health Advisory Committee (LHAC) has already welcomed one new member to the team in 2019 in the form of Leeton Shire Council’s community service manager Wendell Peacock.
Leeton cluster manager Craig McColm said Ms Peacock brings a wealth of experience with her from both the perspectives of community and health.
“She is enthusiastic about advocating for health services,” he said.
“The primary role of the LHAC is to be a voice for health services in our community.
“They are also involved in a number of initiatives targeting priority areas for our community.”
The LHAC will be holding and planning and priority setting meeting in late March to discuss priorities and plan for the next 18 months.
The appointment coincides with the arrival of the new health service manager at Leeton District Hospital – Amanda Culpan.
“We have enticed Amanda to join us from Bacchus Marsh in Victoria, where she has demonstrated excellent capacity for clinical leadership across a variety of settings,” Mr McColm said.
