THE school year has started and we are not talking about your children. Puppy Pre-School is what we mean. Now some people may scoff at the idea of puppies attending “school” but it is just as important for them to attend school to become good citizens as it is for our little human friends.
Learning the basics of sit, drop and stay are important – these are the reading, writing and arithmetic of the doggy world - but there is much more than that to learn at Puppy Pre-School.
Socialisation is an important development of good dog behaviour. By having your puppy attend classes, they have the opportunity to meet new people as well as other pups in a safe, low stress environment.
We also introduce the pups to situations they may encounter in their daily lives as well as have a bit fun with some toys. Introducing your puppy to new experiences and people while in a secure location with a qualified trainer observing is the best way for your newest family member to learn good habits.
We are trained to notice triggers in your pup’s behaviour that may result in behavioural issues and we can show you how to help them overcome those issues.
It’s not just a learning experience for the pups either. You as the puppy parent get an education as well. We talk you through the different options for feeding, parasite prevention and although we hope you never need to use it – what should you do in an emergency!
