In the meeting between the two sides at the top of the ladder, Yanco was looking to get revenge after they lost the Twenty20 title to Narrandera last weekend.
Narrandera won the toss and sent the Stags into bat and made the most of that decision as Mitchell McPherson picked up the wickets of David Tiffin (5) and Thomas Camm (0) early to see the Yanco side sitting on 2/9 after 5.3 overs.
With their side in trouble, Andrew Kouzan and Brad Evans looked to get their side back on track and were able to put together a partnership of 85 runs before Evans (54) fell to the bowling of David Kroek.
Kouzan (51) was the only other batsmen to get a start as McPherson (3/13), Cooper Irons (2/18), Kroek (3/26) and Jarrod O’Brien (2/22) did the damage with the ball for Narrandera as Yanco were bowled out for 145 in 32.2 overs.
The Carpheads made a tough start with Irons (2) falling early to the bowling of Camm before Connor Vearing, and Jake Grant tried to rebuild their side’s innings.
The second wicket pairing was able to get their side to 30 before Grant (12) fell to the bowling of Camm (2/23) while O’Brien (2) followed closely behind when he was bowled by Matt Aliendi.
Vearing (31) tried to keep his side moving forward, but when he was dismissed by Aliendi (2/8), it spelled trouble for the Carpheads. Abid Hussain (3/26) and Tiffin (3/13) helped to see the Stags take a 60-run win with William Gilbert (18) the only other Narrandera player to break double digits.
L&D Blue looked to make a strong start when they elected to bat against LSC Colts with Tyler O’Connell (17) and Chris Iannelli (9) putting on 24 before the Ferrets side lost 5/10 with Reece Keech (4/13) doing the bulk of the damage.
If not for the late contribution from Ryan Mahalm (32*) the L&D side would have been in a lot more trouble as they reached the end of their 35 overs on 9/87. The Colts were able to get the win with their middle order standing tall with Will Harrison (16), Daniel Fisher (11) and Jake Shelton (11*) guiding their side to a victory.
The win means the Colts have all but secured their place in the finals as they now sit 17 points in front of the fifth-placed L&D Blue side.
